The last few years have thrown everyone out of their comfort zones, turning lives upside down. Through the ashes grew a robust, flourishing community. As we approach the end of the year, we reflect on how Genopets has gotten to this point. It’s important to realize that our character is defined by our allies–you–the most fantastic supporters we could have ever asked for.
We are all just beginning to emerge from a global pandemic that has changed not only the way we work and play — but live. And we refuse to accept isolating and sitting all day indoors as the new normal. Because of this massive paradigm shift, our team has been working non-stop day and night to make sure that we can deliver a driving force to go outside, be active, and most importantly, have fun; and let’s not forget, earning an income while doing it.
Genopets was inspired by a simple idea: we all know what we should be doing, but why aren’t we doing it? We realized that the answer was simple — the things we want to do (or know we should do) are just not traditionally that fun, exciting, or sexy.
We wanted to create something that could incentivize and evoke an emotional connection to staying healthy and leading active lifestyles. And we feel that gamifying self-care is the key ingredient to start getting people to actually enjoy taking care of themselves. Combining these things with blockchain’s never-ending earning possibilities, we end up at a game that allows us to justify the time we spend gaming and gives us plenty to show for it. Together, we can turn traditional grinding into something that is physically, emotionally, socially, and financially rewarding; and that equals move-to-earn gaming — that equals Genopets.
This year is undoubtedly the fullest our lives have ever been, and we’re excited to celebrate what we’ve all accomplished together and share some of our biggest achievements in 2021.
2021 in a Nutshell
- Our debut
We began our social media efforts on August 26th, introducing Genopets in our first tweet and medium post, debuting Genopets. We would have never made it this far had it not been for the growth of this amazing community. - We Raised $8.3M in Funding
On October 18th, we announced our seed funding. The round was led by the prominent VC’s Konvoy Ventures and Pantera Capital, with participation from Solana Capital, YGG, Merit Circle, FTX’s Alameda Research, YGG, Merit Circle, as well as many other notable funds that helped us achieve our campaign goal. - The Community is Powerful
It’s safe to say that our most significant success this year has been the growth of the community. Our Discord server grew from 67k in November to over 165k in the last seven weeks alone and is going strong. We owe this growth to each and every one of you. Thank you for showing up, sharing, and contributing to this beautiful community. - Gene Token Successfully Launched
Also, in November, we announced our Multi-Chain, Multi-platform token launch of GENE Token, working with Impossible Finance, Raydium, Bybit, and MEXC. - We’ve Partnered with Major Guilds
Since having YGG and Merit Circle as investors in our seed round, we’ve greatly expanded, and are continuing to expand, our guild partnerships with the goal of onboarding players from around the world into the Genoverse. - We Released the Genopet Eggs
After air-dropping 1000 Genopet Eggs, the 1st of our Genovian NFTs, to the community in October, more than 40k Genovians participated in the Genesis Genopet Fair Launch to secure one of the remaining 2,333 Genopet Eggs and make the Genesis Genopet whitelist. - Influential Athletes & Gamers Joined the Genovian Family

After a two-week window, the hatching of Genopet Eggs ended last Monday, totaling 3,218 hatched eggs and leaving 115 Cracked. While cracked Eggs won’t ever hatch a Genesis Genopet, these eggs symbolize and commemorate a pivotal moment in Genoverse history and are currently trading on Magic Eden, Solanart, and FTX.us. - Genesis Genopets Were Born
Procedurally generated based on the imbuement of each player’s unique personality, there are, and will only ever be, 3,218 Genesis Genopets, marking the 2nd Genovian NFT available to the community. For everyone that was able to obtain one, note that their evolution path is unique to Genesis Genopets. With a Stage 4 Evolution headstart, Genesis Genopets don attributes that are unique to Genesis Genopets and cannot be purchased or earned to be used on any subsequent free Genopets. Thus, as a whole, Genesis Genopets are the rarest of them all and are currently tradable on Magic Eden, Solanart, and FTX.us. - The Creation of Terraform Seeds
Following our Fair Launch ending, we introduced the 3rd Genovian NFT available to the community, a participation prize for everyone who showed up to bid. - Genotype Crystal NFT Airdrop
If you’ve been a part of our community since early October, you may have participated in helping us become the most popular project at the Solana Ignition Hackathon receiving more than 8000 votes from the community. If you liked, commented, voted, and provided us your address in discord, check your wallet for your shiny new Genotype Crystal. This is officially the 4th Genovian NFT available to the community and will soon appear on our official partner marketplaces.
Genesis Genopet Rarity Results
The questions that appear during the minting process are based on a personality test that can be traced back to a concept called “trait theory.” To review your Genopet’s personal description, including its personality analysis, go to https://solscan.io and input your token address (not your wallet address) in the search bar to reveal its metadata.

Private Beta — Phase 1A will launch on January 20th, 2022 and will include:

- Step-Banking
The Goal and Purpose of Private Beta — Phase 1A is to test the banking mechanic and help players become more mindful of their movement. And because this is the foundation of the game, this is what we will be testing first.
Evolution progression, Augmentation, Crystal crafting, Habitats, and GENE Token yield generation will appear during Phase 1B.
